Can Sumoi is the name of an estate, a winery, and a wine label but, above all, it’s the name of an idea: that of feeling nature, working on its form, and turning it into wine.
This is how we undertook this project, which is based on the preservation of the landscape, the recovery of high mountain vineyards in the heart of the Penedès and the production of minimal intervention, organic wines that express, in each bottle, a way of understanding viticulture, that is, of respecting nature, that is, of understanding the world.

Born 15 km from the Mediterranean, where viticulture was born and expanded 8,000 years ago, our wines enjoy ideal climatic conditions to be produced with minimal intervention.
Without additives or artificial chemicals, without added sulphites and produced organically, with minimal intervention viticulture.
A solitary estate at the highest point of the Penedès, the Mediterranean on the horizon, hectares of forest around it, several vineyards of autochthonous varieties and a challenge: to bring an abandoned farmhouse back to life and preserve its landscape through wine.
Ours is a long-distance race that has allowed us to recover the first productive vineyards and other abandoned ones, while we work to give new life to terraces invaded by pine trees, old paths, a dry stone hut and other treasures that light up our eyes. when we walk through this farm.
High-altitude vineyards in the Serra de l'Home, poorly developed calcareous soils, a typical mountain climate, and strains of recovered local varieties, 100% organically replanted.
Here, immersed in infinity, between forests and animals, only a coincidence meant that the 20 hectares that today form the active agricultural part of Can Sumoi were not eroded due to the Vallès-Penedès fault, leaving a geological island composed of clay lands. marine red on limestone rock impassable for agriculture.
Our mission is to recover abandoned vineyards from a unique territory, turn them into a green lung of the territory and treat them in a 100% ecological way. But from the very first moment we knew that we couldn't do this alone, that's why we partner with those who know them best, the winegrowers of the area: colleagues, key players and essential confidants in the challenge of Can Sumoi.
We understand our project as a sustainable and respectful way of protecting the territory, preserving the environment in terms of forestry, and socially promoting the agricultural fabric by doing what we like to do most: making wines that are more than just wines.
